Every generation creates three alternative melody patterns built around the same underlying harmony, allowing you to quickly compare different directions without losing the musical idea that inspired you.

Use one as your main hook, combine sections from several patterns, regenerate individual parts or keep exploring until something clicks.

You can even copy notes or rhythms independently, making it easy to take the groove from one idea and combine it with the notes of another.

MeloGen 2 generates the musical foundation around it, creating connected chord progressions and basslines so you can hear how the complete idea works together.

Choose your root key and scale or leave them on Random and see where inspiration takes you.

Generate 4, 8 or 16-bar ideas, adjust the melodic note range and use Key Snap to keep your own edits inside the selected scale.

The result is a much faster route from an empty project to something that already feels like the beginning of a track.

EDIT EVERYTHING INSIDE MELOGEN 2

Once you've found an idea you like, you don't have to immediately leave the plugin to refine it.

The integrated piano roll lets you draw, move, resize, delete, select and edit notes directly inside MeloGen 2.

Scale-highlighted note rows help you see which notes belong to your selected key, while Key Snap can keep edits inside the scale.

Multi-selection, box selection, keyboard controls, note locking, zooming and precision resizing make it possible to turn a generated idea into something much more personal before exporting it.

TURN YOUR OWN MIDI INTO NEW INSPIRATION

Already have the beginnings of an idea?

Drop an existing MIDI file directly onto MeloGen 2's piano roll.

MeloGen 2 can analyse the MIDI, estimate its key and Major or Minor scale, identify melody and lower bass notes, detect harmonic changes and create a compatible chord and bass foundation.

Your imported melody is then loaded across all three patterns, giving you a starting point for creating new variations around your own musical idea.

It's ideal when you've written a riff you like but aren't sure what chords should go underneath it, where the bass should move or where to take the melody next.

HEAR IDEAS IMMEDIATELY

Inspiration disappears quickly when you have to spend five minutes routing instruments just to hear an idea.

MeloGen 2 includes its own built-in sounds so you can audition results immediately.

Choose from multiple lead, supersaw, piano, rave, bass and kick sounds, then adjust the balance using independent volume controls.

Built-in lead reverb and tempo-synchronised delay make it easier to hear how melodies could feel in a finished production.

Prefer your own sound?

Simply drag a WAV file onto the Melody, Bass or Kick sound selector and use it as your custom preview sound.

You can also send Melody MIDI Output to another instrument, allowing you to audition MeloGen 2's melodies through synths such as Serum, Sylenth and other instruments in your production setup.

WORKS WITH YOUR DAW

MeloGen 2 can synchronise to your DAW's tempo, transport and song position, allowing generated ideas to play alongside the rest of your production.

Optional MIDI-gated playback lets MeloGen 2 play only when it receives MIDI input, giving you another way to integrate it into your workflow.

Once you've found something you want to use, simply drag the MIDI directly into your DAW.

Export:

• Individual Pattern 1, 2 or 3 Melody + Bass

• Complete chord progression MIDI

• MIDI files with the detected key and scale automatically included in the filename

From there, load your favourite synths, choose your sounds and make the idea your own.

MeloGen 2 remembers your generated notes, patterns, chords and settings when you save your DAW project, so you can return to an unfinished track without losing the idea that started it.

Custom preview WAV files can also be embedded into the plugin state for portable project recall.

Undo and Redo support makes experimentation safer, while customisable Melody, Bass, Chord and text colours let you personalise the interface.

The entire interface is resizable with proportional layout and font scaling.
