MeloGen 2 generates melodies, chord progressions, basslines and drum patterns for dance music. Explore five patterns around a shared harmony, build arrangements with up to 10 layers, and hear your ideas immediately using the included sound library.

Generate as often as you like. Keep the parts you love, regenerate individual layers and shape the result into something of your own.

More ways to find your sound

Explore 19 melody modes, including Trance, Euro Dance, UK Hardcore, North East Makina, Epic Anthem, 90s Piano and Acid. Dedicated chord, bass and drum modes add more options, including Piano House and Trance Gate patterns.

Choose your key, select from eight scales and generate 4, 8 or 16-bar ideas.

Build complete layered ideas

Combine up to 10 layers with independent sounds, volume, FX, mute and solo controls. Duplicate layers or link their notes to another layer while giving each its own sound.

Browse 230+ included sounds, or load your own WAV samples and SF2 soundfonts. Shape each layer with filter cutoff, resonance, delay, reverb and envelope controls. Automate layer volume, filter cutoff, resonance and master volume from your DAW.

Keep control of the music

Edit notes and velocities in the built-in piano roll, use Key Snap, and lock notes, rhythms, pitches or whole layers before generating again.

Import existing MIDI into a new song idea, the current pattern or a selected layer. Develop your own riffs and explore new variations without starting from scratch.

Take it straight into your DAW

Save or drag out selected-layer MIDI, all-layer MIDI and WAV stems. Choose dry audio for further processing or wet audio with MeloGen’s effects and tails.

Batch WAV exports follow your mute and solo selections, giving you stems for the layers you’re hearing. You can also send a selected layer’s MIDI to another instrument where your host supports plugin MIDI routing.

The demo includes generation and audio preview. The full version enables MIDI/WAV export and generated MIDI output.
